Another of Owen’s tracks was selected to appear on a Wink Bingo advertisement for their national television advertising campaign. The original track was an Irish Jig played on mandolin, which was a adapted and re-record for the advert.
The advert was long running on British TV and one of Owen’s most often recognised music placements.

One of Owen’s tracks was picked up by the TV show Benidorm ER, which led to a re-write for the main show theme as well as production elements and incidental music.
The show airs on Channel 5 in the UK.

Owen produced an entire library of atmospheric guitar parts and sounds for Ben to use on his score for Hours alongside overdubs later in the process. Some of the guitar parts featured on the score are obviously guitar – glassy cleans, deep throbbing basses and tense mandolin ostinatos while others could easily be mistaken for synths – ambient pads, obnoxious textures and masses of rhythmic material..

HAMMER OF THE GODS (2013)

Original score by Benjamin Wallfisch. Guitars by Owen Gurry.

 

Owen was tasked with writing guitar parts to fit the brutal, harsh and dirty aesthetic of Hammer of the Gods. Some of his parts used on the score are recognisably guitar – heavy, aggressive and unrelenting; other parts were mangled and manipulated to not sound like guitars at all.
Owen also contributed to the music for the closing credits, which was nominated for a Hollywood Music In Media Award (Original Song – Feature Film).
